Finance Minister lists National Health Insurance Fund among statutory funds paid in full
Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson said on 21 October that the government had paid GH¢24.8 billion into statutory funds since January 2026, following the release of third-quarter allocations. The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), which finances the National Health Insurance Scheme, is among the funds he named.
The other funds listed include GETFund, the Free SHS Programme, the District Assemblies Common Fund, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, the Road Maintenance Trust Fund, the Mineral Development Fund and the Minerals Income Investment Fund. Dr Forson contrasted the payments with past releases, which he said had been marked by delays, capping and arrears, and described this year's transfers as made "on time and in full".
