NHIA launches regional SHS quiz on the NHIS in Kadjebi
The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has launched a Regional Senior High School Quiz Competition on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Kadjebi, Oti Region, Citi Newsroom reported on 30 October 2026. The competition tests students on the scheme and is meant to equip them to explain it to their families and communities.
NHIA Chief Executive Dr Victor Asare Bampoe said at the launch that the scheme “works best when people understand it”. He said teaching health insurance in schools would help students correct misconceptions about the NHIS and encourage membership renewal at home, and he called on health and education stakeholders to support public education on the scheme. He thanked the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools for their support.
The NHIA expects the competition to raise awareness of NHIS benefits and members’ rights, encourage membership renewal and promote use of covered health services.
