Acacia Health Insurance launches Eden Care retail cover for families and informal workers
Updated: 19 hours ago

Acacia Health Insurance, part of Enterprise Group, has launched Eden Care, a retail health insurance product for individuals, families, retirees, small businesses and informal-sector workers.
Eden Care comes in three packages: Essential, Enhanced and Elite. According to the Ghanaian Times, it gives access to more than 750 providers, has no waiting period for chronic conditions, and offers digital onboarding and 24-hour support. MyJoyOnline reported that cover starts immediately and includes second medical opinions, preventive wellness support and telemedicine.
Managing Director Araba Asumanu said Eden Care will be the master brand for Acacia's retail products. "You sign up today, you start enjoying cover today," she told MyJoyOnline.
Acacia covers more than 52,000 lives through over 285 corporate clients, the Ghanaian Times reported. Graphic said the insurer's claims payouts rose from GH¢63m in 2022 to just over GH¢128m in 2025. Enterprise Group chief executive Daniel Larbi-Tieku said about 1% of Ghanaians hold private health insurance and that 61% of medical costs are met from savings, family or emergency funds.
Why it matters
Acacia's business has been built on corporate schemes. Eden Care is its move to sell directly to households and informal workers, a group the company's own figures show is largely without private cover. Take-up will depend partly on pricing, which was not disclosed at launch.
