Insurance University College and GAIP brief insurers on germination index insurance

The Ghana Insurance University College (GIC) and the Ghana Agricultural Insurance Pool (GAIP) held a two-day online session on agricultural insurance for representatives of insurance companies, Ghana Business News reported on 29 October 2026, citing the Ghana News Agency. The session, under the EU-funded TEMBO Africa Project, covered Germination Index Insurance, which pays smallholder farmers for seed and ploughing costs when seeds fail to germinate because of prolonged drought or heavy rain, so they can replant within a 21-day window. GAIP Marketing Officer Samuel Orison Yarney said farmer education had reached about 4,000 farmers across 41 districts.

SanlamAllianz opens nominations for PROUD Moments 2.0

SanlamAllianz in Ghana has launched the second edition of its PROUD Moments campaign, inviting people to nominate themselves or others by posting an Instagram video, MyJoyOnline reported on 29 October 2026. Entries close on 13 November 2026. Selected honourees will be celebrated at the company's office and receive a #PROUDBOX worth GH¢5,000. The first edition, held in October 2025, honoured 10 people.
